General Summary

Decisive Talent, Inc. is a seeking software developer to work on a Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) agile development team. The candidate will be responsible for software development in primarily C++, Python, and C languages on the Linux operating system.   The candidate must have the ability to integrate and debug existing code, assist with code design, testing, and documentation.  Must have experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as object-oriented coding, coding standards and configuration management.  The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a rapid paced team environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

• General software development, peer review, and configuration management
• Participation on an Agile development team
• Briefing completed work at iteration demonstrations
• Writing unit and regression tests
• Interacting with other development teams to determine root cause of integration issues

Required Qualifications

• 4-9 years of development experience
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in engineering, computer science, physics, or mathematics
• Experience with or knowledge of one or more of the following: C++, C, Python
• Knowledge of object-oriented principles
• Software debugging and testing experience
• Knowledge of one or more software development tools such as Git, Atlassian suite, Jenkins
• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance and identify root cause and recommend solutions
• Good verbal and written communication skills, must be able to work independently and will possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment

Desired Qualifications

• GMD program experience
• Knowledge of the Linux OS
